# Encryption
All data exchanged between your browser or application and Virtual Contact servers is encrypted in transit using TLS 1.2 or higher. All data stored on Virtual Contact servers — including conversation history, CRM records, call recordings and attachments — is encrypted at rest using AES-256.
Encryption keys are managed by Virtual Contact and rotated periodically. On-Premises customers manage their own encryption keys.
