# Data Retention

Configure data retention policies from Settings > Workspace Settings > Data Retention. Set different retention periods for conversation history, call recordings, CRM records and analytics data. When a retention period expires, data is permanently and automatically deleted from all Virtual Contact systems.

Default retention periods vary by plan. Review and configure your retention settings to match your organisation's data protection obligations before going live.
