# Backup and Restore
Regular backups are essential for an On-Premises deployment. Back up the following: the PostgreSQL database, the file storage volume (MinIO or S3) and the .env configuration file.
The installation package includes a backup script that automates database dumps and file storage snapshots. Schedule the script via cron to run daily. Test your restore procedure regularly to verify that backups are valid and complete.
